Answer me this — can a woman be 50 years old, or older, and still be sexy and stylish?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Everyone knows that. Right?

So then, if we all agree that women over 50 cannot be sexy or stylish, can they be relevant on social media? Are they making it there? Take for example this babe: Kim France, 51, and founder of Girls of a Certain Age, a fashion, beauty and design website for women aged 40 and above:

She started Girls of a Certain Age after being put out to pasture from her job editing Lucky magazine, a publication geared to much younger women.
No idea how many people check out Girls of a Certain Age every day, BUT site advertisers include fashion super heavyweights Nordstrom, Net-A-Porter and Mango, so, you do the math.
Another babe who is totally making it on social media is Angie. (Just one name). She is the powerhouse behind HotAndFlashy50, a website and YouTube channel also geared to helping girls of a certain age look and feel their best. Here is Angie, explaining it all (“Before starting my own channel, I actually thought YouTube was just for cute kitten videos , or for porn…. ” : ) :
Some of Angie’s posts have been viewed by more than half a million people, and her advertisers include Sephora, Amazon and … Tide. Not too shabby, I’d say.
The last girl of a certain age who can rock a hashtag and/or a Vine far, far better than any spoiled Millennial is the divine Ms. O.

(Before I proceed, full disclosure: I got a girl crush, hate to admit it but, I got a heart rush, ain’t slowin’ down…)
But I digress.
As this article on The Verge details, FLOTUS (backed up by her very talented communications team) is a Social Media Master. Through various social media platforms, and the use of her vast personal charm and humour, she has worked very hard to convince the American public to exercise more and eat less. And some say she’s even succeeded.
So there you have it.
Turns out, it is actually possible to be a girl of a certain age AND a goddess on social media.
